Homosexuality Laws By Country: An [Incomplete] Map Generated By Equaldex Users
Above is a map of the world showing where homosexual activity is legal and illegal. Many of the red countries include penalties of life in prison and the death penalty.
This interactive map (along with 7 other maps for other LGBT issues) was generated using data contributed by Equaldex users, however it’s far from complete. (Also, most data has not yet been verified by other users, so there are likely to be errors). Historical data is also being collected, so maps could be generated for any day in history.
Equaldex is still in private Alpha. Want to be among the first 100 people to use Equaldex? Equaldex is looking for more Alpha testers to help test, contribute, or give feedback about the site.

Gay Veteran Confronts Mitt Romney About Marriage Equality

From ABC News:

“Mitt Romney had an uncomfortable exchange over same-sex marriage with a gay veteran having breakfast in New Hampshire this morning.

At an event that was meant to highlight the endorsement of Romney by Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas, veteran Bob Garon of Ebson, N.H., asked the presidential candidate, who stopped by his breakfast table, whether he supports the repeal of the New Hampshire same-sex marriage law.”

White House releases “Progress For The LGBT Community” infographic

The White House just published an inforgraphic that overviews the progress of LGBT Americans. @BarackObama tweeted: “From safer schools to ending #DADT, take a look at three years of progress for LGBT Americans.”

From their post:

“Three years ago, "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was the law of the land, and the words “lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender” appeared nowhere in the federal register.

Today, gay and lesbian men and women can serve their country without hiding who they are. The Obama administration has declared the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional, and the President is working to make our schools safer for LGBT youth.

As we celebrate three years of progress for LGBT Americans under President Obama – and work toward another four – here’s a look at how far we’ve come since the President took office.“
