More People Googled LGBT Rights During Election Week Than Ever Before In History

Google Trends is reporting that worldwide searches for “LGBT rights” has reached an all-time high during the US election week, blowing past every record throughout Google Trend’s history, which begins in 2004.

There was a slight rise in searches on the day before the election, and a significant increase on November 8th (Election Day), but the major surge was on the day following the election, specifically during the hours that Trump was announced winner.

While the majority of the searches came from the United States, the cumulative quantity of searches was able to break the worldwide record. Canada, Ireland, Singapore and the Philippines were the next top countries searching for this term this week, with each of these countries’ searches reaching around 27-33% of the United States’ quantity.
